La Asociación Extranjera de Prensa de Hollywood entregó por vez número 69 los Globos de Oro, el premio más prestigioso luego del los Oscars y que en la mayoría de las oportunidades suele ser termómetro de los premios de la Academia. La ceremonia se realizó el hotel Beverly Hilton en Berverly Hills, con Ricky Gervais como anfitrión por segunda vez consecutiva.
La designación de Gervais no estuvo exenta de polémica puesto que su performance el año pasado ofendió a varios de los presentes con bromas ácidas y pesadas, pero en ésta oportunidad se lo vió más simpático y controlado, aunque si hubo algunas chispas en sus comentarios, por ejemplo “La Asociación Extranjera de Prensa me dijo que si los insultaba a ellos o a alguno de ustedes, definitivamente me invitarían el año que viene”, respecto de Eddie Murphy renunciando a los Oscars “Cuando el hombre que le dijo SI a Norbit te dice NO a ti, estas en problemas” y en cuanto a Boardwalk Empire “Se trata de un montón de inmigrantes que llegaron al país hace cien años y mediante crímenes y corrupción lograron meterse en la alta sociedad, pero ya basta de hablar de la Asociación Extranjera de Prensa.”
En cuanto a la ceremonia, estuvo teñida con todo el glamour de las estrellas de cine y televisión norteamericana, con muy pocas ausencias (las más destacadas fueron Ryan Gosling y Woody Allen, que resultó ganador por el mejor guión con Midnight in Paris). Madonna tuvo protagonismo presentando y ganando un premio, Johnny Depp fue víctima de Gervais al presentar una categoría, George Clooney se robó parte de la noche al presentar un premio utilizando un bastón que Brad Pitt llevó a la ceremonia y cojeando como un anciano, también se encargó de bromear con Michael Fassbender por el desnudo frontal que éste realizó en el film por el cual lo nominaron (Shame). Clooney dijo “Gracias por tomar la responsabilidad de hacer un desnudo frontal. Tu si que puedes jugar Golf con tus manos hacia atrás. Inténtalo.”
El momento emotivo de la noche llegó cuando la leyenda del cine Sidney Poitier y Helen Mirren entregaron el premio Cecil B. DeMile a Morgan Freeman por su fantástica trayectoria y su contribución al séptimo arte. Muy emocionado Freeman observo junto a todos el homenaje realizado con clips de sus films y hasta recuerdos de su comienzo en televisión.
En fin, fue una ceremonia con todos los aires de fiesta en Hollywood y con armonía reinante, además de una duración aceptable para los que tienen menos paciencia. A continuación los ganadores:
